Shadow the Husky killed by his rescue and trainer

SHADOW during my session with him

Shadow the Husky was needlessly killed by the inept Husky breed rescuer & the unskilled dog trainer.

*links at the end*

This audio is from several telephone calls with Resha Sabti, the founder of Siberian Husky Education & Rescue Society. I was warned by several people to be cautious with her…I’m very glad I listened to them.

These telephone conversations are AFTER my downtraining session with Shadow. This is BEFORE the rescue sent Shadow to the unskilled trainer, Bev Miagortok

I was extremely clear to Resha. You’ll hear me repeatedly & politely explain to Resha as to exactly what Shadow needed & exactly how to stabilize him. At the end of this video, there are screenshots from Resha as she is very happy with how I progressed Shadow. I told her she could contact me any time for assistance.

I advised her against transferring Shadow until he’d had at least one month to destress. It’s clear she ignored all my advice. Resha blocked me so I only found out about her killing Shadow from some of my followers that knew I had worked with him (on my Tik Tok, IG, YouTube & Facebook of Shadow).

Shadow would still be alive.

You’ll notice that in all of Resha’s & the dog trainer’s posts…not one mention of my work downtraining Shadow’s during his most significant issues (before boarding at Bev’s home). They knew I told them to give Shadow time to destress. Instead, they rushed him.

I told her that I’m available any time to talk to the foster & trainer to explain how to maintain progress (as my videos show). I strongly warned Resha that the wrong trainer WILL cause Shadow to behave in a dangerous manner.

You’ll hear me repeatedly warn against sending Shadow to this trainer. I told her the trainer would be overwhelmed & instead of admitting she was out of her depth, the trainer would start to find reasons to blame Shadow. These phone calls are one month before they killed Shadow.

This audio counters the mistruths of Resha & Bev blaming Shadow.

The rescue hired me to evaluate & provide effective downtraining protocols for Shadow. Again, I repeatedly & politely advised her to let Shadow have 4 weeks to destress & stabilize at his foster’s home, in her secured backyard. I personally confirmed with the dog’s foster who told me she was good with letting the dog live in her backyard for “as long as he needs”.

She kept talking about her desire to have Shadow in my board-and-train (I declined as I only offer board-and-train to extremely dangerous/skittish dogs with significant histories). Bev is located in Campbell River on Vancouver Island. She asked me to review the trainer. I advised her the trainer, despite her claim of significant experience with the Husky breed, was not experienced nor knowledgeable with this dog’s level of dysfunction.

Shadow was 4 years old & had spent all his life in a kennel. His owner didn’t know how to handle his high energy so instead kept him locked in his kennel most of his life! When Shadow misbehaved, the owner would literally whip him in the face with the metal end of the leash till he yelped in pain. The volunteer that came to assess Shadow witnessed the owner whipping this innocent dog. The owner also stated she would whip him with the metal leash end when he “was bad”.

Who killed Shadow? Now you know.

Initially, the ‘breed specialist’ Husky trainer had become nervous & tried to decline Shadow. She told Resha that she had ‘family issues & couldn’t take him’. Resha inexplicably continued to push Bev to board Shadow.

Bev should have said no, knowing she was outmatched by the dog.

It’s pathetic to read their ‘grieving posts’ claiming that “Shadow told us he wanted to die”. This is an ignorant & arrogant statement. No dog wants to die. Even the most dangerous dog wants to live. A dangerous dog attacks because they’re trying to protect themself. Shadow was killed because Resha & Bev were too proud to admit they screwed up by not listening to me.

They were too proud to call me for help. Shadow’s training video:

These intuitive parenting protocols are very simple to apply. It is abhorrent that Shadow’s rescue wasn’t willing to put in the time. Actually, it is the foster(s) that said they would be happy to put in the time, for as long as it takes.

Bev Miagortok pushed Shadow because she wanted to prove she was more skilled than me. Instead, the trainer set the dog up for death by claiming ‘he can’t be fixed’. Yet, I had no problem at his worse. My videos are dogs far worse.

Ultimately, the person that decided to end Shadow’s life, despite knowing there was several choices, was made by Resha Sabti.

I had no problem ‘fixing’ these dogs, either.
